Family Financial Literacy Lab

Building Financial Futures for Every Family

The Family Financial Literacy Lab is an interactive financial capability program for middle and high school students and their families — turning financial knowledge into everyday skills.

Why Financial Literacy Matters

1 in 3

American families lack the financial skills to manage a budget, navigate unexpected expenses, or protect themselves from fraud — making early financial education one of the highest-impact investments a community can make.

Our Programs

Financial Capability, Not Just Financial Literacy

Knowing what a budget is matters. Knowing how to adjust a budget when expenses exceed income matters even more. Setting and tracking financial goals, understanding credit, and protecting financial assets is important for all families. The Lab moves students beyond definitions.

Core Program

Middle and High School Financial Capability

Designed for Grades 6–12, students work through six real-world missions covering earning, budgeting, saving, banking, responsible use of credit, and protecting their money — moving from knowledge to application.

Family Engagement

Family Connection Activities

Structured activities that bring students and parents together to discuss goals, spending, saving, and household priorities — creating financial conversations that continue at home.

Partnerships

School & Community Partnerships

Flexible delivery through after-school programs, evening family events, weekend programming, and Community School initiatives — configured around the needs of each school.

Our Mission

The Bridge Between Knowing and Doing

Financial education gives young people important knowledge. The Family Financial Literacy Lab helps them use it. Students make choices, solve problems, explain tradeoffs, and apply what they learn with their families — because financial habits are shaped far beyond the classroom.

"Learn it. Practice it. Apply it. Together."
